So when is the last time you feared a tiger attack? Probably never, and that can be a problem.
Technology and modern comforts have dulled our senses and forced most of us to walk around numb and unafraid of any dangers though they still exist. We ignore even those who would do us harm, because we have our heads down tapping away at witty social media posts assuming someone else will ensure our safety. Stifling our inner alarm system has its consequences, and many of them are quite negative personally and in business. With my journey to warrior, I am learning to harness fear and make it a welcome battle buddy for possible situations of danger professionally and personally.
The natural survival instinct that protected our ancestors from physical harm (like a wild animal) remains on high alert in our brains and causes non-life threatening events to trigger us in silly ways. With natural instincts to self-protect still present in our DNA, the stress at work, traffic jams, and other modern non-life threatening pressures can still trigger our brain to go into fight, flight or freeze reactions. Fear is natural and will not go away. In fact, we don’t want it to go away. We want to learn to marinate in it, make us sharper, and even power us in the right situations to not freeze in business, sales presentations or even with a belligerent teenager.
In January I will be 46. Oh boy. It’s hard to believe that I am closer to 50 than 40. The good news is that I have great health, a strong body, some of my hair still remains, and with my health and fitness business I get to work when I want and with whom I want. Though my family is not exempt from challenges, life rocks, but I want to improve. (more…)
I just returned from a remarkable trip to Cancun, Mexico. While there, I found myself sitting in a beautiful cabana overlooking a sparkling pool and the ocean with the most remarkable light blue water imaginable. Because we arrived on a red-eye, my wife quickly fell asleep to the sound of waves while I pulled out some classic books on my phone to pass the time and just relax. As I sat there reading excerpts from The Magic of Thinking Big and Working With the Law, I couldn’t forget how much these books taught me before and how big of an impact they have made on my success now. Today, I just want to share a few impactful lines from each of these books. I hope they can be as meaningful to you as they were to me. (more…)
Everybody claims to have the secrets to success. There are a million books written on success by people who really have never been successful at anything except selling a book on how to be successful. The fact of the matter is, any success I have had in life has come from practicing and mastering the basics and repeating them until I achieved my goal and knowing that success does not come from doing 5,000 things well, because it comes from doing 5 things 5,000 times. The pursuit of money is rarely a game to be played by the weak, sick or afflicted. To have a real hope of escaping the slavery of wages, it requires time and patience, which the unhealthy rarely have the luxury of possessing. Making real money takes a healthy heart to sustain the toxic hours, miles and heaping amounts of disappointment that bombard even the most healthy body and mind. (more…)
When I was single, I was not very good at breaking up. In fact, I was pretty awful at it. I hated hurting feelings so instead of doing the manly thing and being honest with a girl, I became distant and cold until they eventually broke up with me. I was a real wimp, I admit it. In the end, I likely hurt more feelings than by just doing the right thing. (more…)

My first experience with network marketing was not fun, in fact it was a lousy experience. As a 22 year old, I sat with my brother, my future upline and 10,000 other wanna-be entrepreneurs for 10 hours in uncomfortable seats in a basketball arena. My brother and I missed our dates we had planned with some lovely ladies and had to listen to Dexter Yager drone on until 3:30 in the morning. At about 2:00 A.M. my brother looked at me and said, “I am in hell!” I was too. (more…)
